About the competition
Do you dream about a trendy and demanded profession? Do you want to get an excellent education in the field of design? Do you love your hometown?
Especially for you, HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL is launching a new regional Local Genius competition as part of the HSE CREATIVE OPEN.
Conditions
This competition accepts creative projects that represent the local identity: the development of local brands, promotion of regional products or the organization of tourist routes in your city / region / republic.
The projects must include proposals for modernization / improvement / rethinking of certain aspects of the life in your hometown and be aimed at benefiting its residents.
The projects can be submitted by participants who are over 16 years old. Each participant can submit no more than one project for each of the 8 nominations:
• animation and illustration; • game design; • design and programming; • design and promotion of a digital product; • environmental and interior design; • communication design; • design and contemporary art; • 3D post-production.
The prizes
The winners of the competition will receive discounts from 20% to 40% for the first year of education at online bachelor's Design program of the Perm National Research University Higher School of Economics , as well as for studying under the bachelor's Design program - Nizhny Novgorod.
Winning the competition does not entail the provision of a monetary reward to the winners equivalent to a discount on the payment for the period of study. The discount applies exclusively to the participants selected as winners of the competition based on the results of the jury’s evaluation, and who successfully passed the entrance examinations and concluded educational agreements with the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
The winner of the competition is the participant who presented a creative project that, based on the results of the jury’s assessment and comparison of the works of all competition participants, scored the highest number of points in accordance with the point scoring system, but not less than 9 (nine) points.
Stages of the competition
February 24 — start date to upload projects
June 30 — project submission deadline
July 15 — presenting voting results
Requirements to projects
To participate in the competition, make sure to read the methodological guidelines for the 3D post-production nomination.
We have also created a guide on working with the platform, which will help you quickly and easily create an account and upload a project.
Do not forget to submit your project to the competition!
The competition projects will come in handy when entering HSE
The works submitted for the Local Genius competition can be submitted upon passing the entrance exams for the following bachelor’s degree programs: online bachelor’s Design degree at the Perm HSE, Design at HSE in Nizhny Novgorod, Design at HSE in St. Petersburg, Design at HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL in Moscow.
The points received at the competition may differ from the points received at the entrance exams due to the different level of preparation of the participants and the number of submitted works.
Participation in the competition does not exempt you from the mandatory entrance test upon admission. Don’t forget to submit documents and upload a project.
