Frozen
The planet is in a global cold. The level of development exceeds the first decades of the twenty-first century. Human thought divides those who seek to relocate to other planets and transhumanists who believe in adaptation.
Among the latter are Anima Corporation, the construction of a human outpost in the far north, and the creation of synthetic people called price.
Nordmnarr works with nuclear power and hydrogen electrolysis. The very existence of this city is a great experiment to increase the limits of human survival. Most of his inhabitants, created by Anima, consider themselves watchmen. They think they’re only coming here to work for a few years.
A few years are inevitable. In the meantime, the I.E. box of price in the cranial box solves one problem: to keep living in an organic body. It comes to the point that it is impossible to accomplish the task, so prices are blocked by the very notion of death.
The South Port has a complex called Terminal. Its facade is a passenger area for patrolmen returning to the mainland. In fact, it’s a price-recycling centre whose steady work is coming to an end.
Technologies
Transport
Transport reflects the general trends and principles of urban infrastructure: speed, efficiency, the combination of micro-control and non-management. Personal means of transport are generally the same: the standard user is either not burdened by the family or is not opposed to communicating with the family through screens.
Weapons
A weapon that’s automated and interacting with the body’s level of electrical signals is more of a man’s control than the other way around.
Cold weapons work effectively with or against a firearm. The aim is not to cause point damage, but to knock down or squeeze the enemy, who also owns instruments that increase the speed of reaction.
Nordmnarr’s culture is held to the suppression of the negative aspects of existence, the combination of cold technology and longing for life.
The day will come when a person’s personal tragedy will prompt him to reveal the tragedy of life to the artificial mind.
